Powering a hired Starlink Mini
Check mains power, DC input, USB-C output and the accessory cable before your Starlink Mini hire.
Start with what is supplied
The hire includes a mains adapter, cables and a carry case. A battery is not included. Confirm the exact cable inventory with Outback WiFi before collection, particularly when you plan to use an off-grid source.
Check the source and cable together
For the original Starlink Mini specification, the input rating is 12–48V DC at up to 60W. The USB-C accessory option requires 100W USB Power Delivery at 20V/5A with the correct USB-C-to-barrel cable. A USB-C connector or a battery's total capacity alone does not establish compatibility.
Treat runtime as an estimate
The listed average consumption is 25–40W. Runtime depends on the source's usable energy, conversion losses and actual load. Divide usable watt-hours by watts for a rough estimate, then allow a margin; this is not a guaranteed operating duration. Check the specific equipment and manufacturer instructions.
Check before leaving reception
Test the complete source, cable and Mini together. Pack the intended charger and keep connections dry and secure according to the manufacturer's instructions. Do not modify cables or improvise connections. Email Outback WiFi with the source's make, model and output ratings when unsure.
