Terms of Hire

Last updated 19 July 2026

These terms cover the hire of Starlink equipment from us. They're written to be plain and fair — if anything's unclear, just ask.

1. Who we are

These Terms of Hire are between you (“you”, the hirer) and Outback WiFi (“we”, “us”), operating from Ourimbah, NSW 2258. You can reach us any time at danieljhall@me.com.

By requesting or taking a hire, you agree to these terms. Please read them before you book.

2. Bookings and confirmation

Choosing your dates on our website is a request, not a confirmed booking. We check availability and confirm by email. Your dates are only held once we confirm them.

To secure a confirmed booking we ask for a $10 deposit, paid online via a secure payment link. The balance of your hire fee and the security bond are handled at pickup.

3. Fees, deposit and security bond

Current rates are $25 per day, $129 per week and $349 per month, all with unlimited data. We always apply the cheapest combination of daily, weekly and monthly rates for your dates.

A refundable $300 security bond is collected at pickup. We return it in full after the equipment is returned on time and in good working order, less the cost of any loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear (see clause 6).

The $10 deposit is applied to your hire. If you cancel with reasonable notice we will refund it; if you cancel at the last minute or do not collect the equipment, we may retain it to cover our costs.

4. Pickup, return and delivery

Pickup and return are from Ourimbah, NSW 2258 at times we agree with you. We share the exact address once your booking is confirmed.

Please return the equipment by the agreed time. Late returns may incur an additional day's hire for each day (or part-day) late, and can affect the next customer's booking.

Delivery and freight can often be arranged at cost. Any delivery is at your risk once the equipment is in your possession.

5. The equipment, power and service

You are hiring a Starlink Mini kit — the dish with built-in Wi-Fi, kickstand, cables and mains adapter, in a padded case. Batteries and off-grid power are not included; you supply your own power source.

Starlink is a satellite service. It needs a clear view of the sky and depends on the Starlink network and its coverage. We do our best to supply working equipment, but we cannot guarantee particular speeds, uninterrupted service or coverage at a specific location, and the service should not be relied upon for emergency, medical or other life-safety purposes.

You must not open, modify, repair or tamper with the equipment, or change the Starlink account settings beyond normal use.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Use the equipment lawfully and in line with Starlink's own terms of service.
  • Take reasonable care of it and keep it secure against theft, loss and avoidable damage.
  • Return it in the same condition you received it, allowing for fair wear and tear.
  • Tell us promptly if it is faulty, lost, damaged or stolen.

7. Loss, damage and theft

You are responsible for the equipment while it is in your possession. If it is lost, stolen or damaged beyond fair wear and tear, we may apply your $300 bond toward repair or replacement, and any cost above the bond is payable by you.

The Starlink Mini is weatherproof (IP67) but is not indestructible — please treat it as you would your own gear.

8. Cancellations and changes

If you need to change or cancel, contact us as early as you can and we'll do our best to help. Deposit treatment on cancellation is covered in clause 3.

Occasionally we may need to cancel a confirmed booking (for example if the equipment is damaged by a previous hire). If we do, we'll let you know as soon as possible and refund anything you've paid for that booking in full.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply alongside them.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from service interruptions, coverage limitations or matters outside our reasonable control. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to re-supplying the hire or refunding the amount you paid for it.

10. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, available at /privacy.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published on this page when you book. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
